HelpLogging Game Sessions

Logging Game Sessions

Learn how to record your board game plays, including competitive, cooperative, and solo sessions.

Session Types

ScoreKeep supports three types of game sessions:

🏆 Competitive

Games where players compete against each other. Track individual placements (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) and optional scores.

🤝 Cooperative

Games where players work together as a team. Record win/loss outcome and optional group score. No individual rankings.

🎯 Solo

Single-player games. Track your individual performance, win/loss, and optional scores.

Logging Competitive Games

  1. Click "Add Session" from the Sessions page or game detail page
  2. Select the game from your collection
  3. Choose the date and time the game was played
  4. Select players who participated (family members or offline members)
  5. Arrange players in order from winner to last place using drag-and-drop
  6. Optionally add scores for each player
  7. Click "Save Session"

Tip: You can have ties in competitive games. Simply place players at the same position to record a draw.

Drag-to-Reorder Rankings

The rankings interface uses a simple drag-and-drop system. Drag players up or down to reorder them by placement. The first position is the winner, and subsequent positions are 2nd, 3rd, etc.

Logging Cooperative Games

For cooperative games where everyone works together:

  1. Select the cooperative game from your collection
  2. Choose the date and time
  3. Select all players who participated
  4. Indicate whether the team won or lost
  5. Optionally add the team's group score
  6. Save the session

There are no individual rankings in cooperative games - everyone shares the same outcome. Statistics track your team success rate and best team compositions.

Logging Solo Games

For single-player games:

  1. Select the solo game
  2. Choose the date and time
  3. You're automatically the only player
  4. Indicate whether you won or lost
  5. Optionally add your score
  6. Save the session

Solo game statistics show your personal performance trends, best scores, and win rate over time.

Session Details

Each session includes:

  • Game: Which game was played
  • Date & Time: When the session occurred
  • Duration: How long the game took (optional)
  • Players: Who participated
  • Results: Placements, scores, or team outcome

Editing and Deleting Sessions

Made a mistake logging a session? You can delete it from the session history page. Click the delete button next to any session and confirm the deletion.

Warning: Deleting a session is permanent and will affect all related statistics and leaderboards. There is no undo.

Note: Currently, sessions cannot be edited after creation. If you need to change details, delete the session and create a new one with the correct information.

Playing with Offline Members

Offline members (like young children or family members without accounts) can participate in sessions just like regular family members. Select them from the player list when logging a session, and their statistics will be tracked normally.

Learn more about offline members in our Family Features guide.

Session Logging Tips

  • Log sessions right after playing while details are fresh
  • Don't worry about scores if you don't track them - placements are enough
  • Use the mobile app for quick logging at the game table
  • For games with complex scoring, you can add scores later if needed
  • Double-check player order before saving - deletions affect statistics
