Creating Your Family
A family in ScoreKeep is a group that shares a game collection and tracks plays together:
- Navigate to the Family page from your dashboard
- Click "Create Family"
- Enter your family name
- You're automatically set as the family owner
Note: Each user can only be part of one family at a time. You can leave and join different families, but not be in multiple families simultaneously.
Inviting Family Members
To invite someone to your family:
- Go to the Family page
- Click "Invite Member"
- Enter their email address
- Click "Send Invitation"
The recipient will receive an email invitation. They must have a ScoreKeep account to accept (they can create one if needed). Once they accept, they'll join your family and gain access to the shared collection.
Invitation Status
You can see pending invitations on the Family page. Invitations can be:
- Pending: Sent but not yet responded to
- Accepted: Member has joined the family
- Declined: Invitation was declined
Offline Members
Offline members are family members who participate in games but don't need their own ScoreKeep accounts. This is perfect for:
- Young children
- Elderly relatives who aren't tech-savvy
- Occasional players who don't want an account
- Guests who play regularly
Adding Offline Members
- Go to the Family page
- Click "Add Offline Member"
- Enter their name
- Click "Add"
Using Offline Members
Offline members appear in player selection when logging sessions, just like regular family members. All their statistics are tracked normally - they just can't log in to view their own stats.
Tip: You can always upgrade an offline member to a full account later by inviting them via email. Their statistics will be preserved.
Family Roles
There are two roles in a family:
👑 Owner
- • Owns the game collection
- • Can add/remove games
- • Can invite/remove members
- • Can add offline members
- • Can delete the family
👤 Member
- • Can view shared collection
- • Can log game sessions
- • Can view all statistics
- • Can create competitions
- • Can leave the family
Removing Members
Leaving a Family (Members)
Family members can leave at any time from the Family page. Your personal statistics will be preserved, but you'll lose access to the shared collection.
Removing Members (Owners)
Family owners can remove members from the Family page. Click the remove button next to a member's name and confirm. The removed member keeps their statistics but loses family access.
Deleting Offline Members
Owners can delete offline members. This will remove all their play history and statistics permanently, so use with caution.
