HelpManaging Your Collection

Managing Your Collection

Learn how to add, organize, and maintain your board game library in ScoreKeep.

Adding Games

There are two ways to add games to your collection:

From BoardGameGeek (Recommended)

  1. Click "Add Game" from the Games page
  2. Search for your game by name
  3. Select the correct game from the search results
  4. All game details (year, player count, playing time, description, images) are automatically added
  5. Click "Add Game" to save it to your collection

Tip: BoardGameGeek has over 100,000 games in their database. Try different search terms if you can't find your game at first.

Adding Custom Games

For games not in the BoardGameGeek database, you can add them manually with custom details. This is useful for homebrew games, prototypes, or very obscure titles.

Understanding Game Details

Each game in your collection includes:

  • Basic Info: Title, year published, BoardGameGeek rating
  • Player Count: Minimum and maximum players
  • Playing Time: Estimated duration in minutes
  • Game Type: Automatically detected from categories (Competitive, Cooperative, Solo)
  • Description: Full game description from BoardGameGeek
  • Images: Box art and thumbnails
  • Play Stats: Your personal statistics for this game

Viewing Your Collection

The Games page shows all games in your collection with:

  • Sortable columns (name, plays, last played)
  • Filter options to find specific games
  • Quick stats showing total plays and last played date
  • Visual indicators for games that need more plays

Click any game to see detailed statistics, including win rates, leaderboards, and full session history.

Collection Statistics

The Collection Stats page (accessible from the Games dropdown) provides insights into your entire library:

  • Summary Cards: Total games, sessions, play time, most played game
  • Best Win Rate: Games where you perform best
  • Needs More Plays: Games you haven't played in a while
  • Average Session Duration: How long your typical game night lasts
  • Detailed Table: Sortable view of all games with comprehensive stats

Archiving and Deleting Games

Marking Games as Sold

If you sell or trade a game, you can mark it as "sold" to archive it. This keeps all your historical play data while removing it from your active collection. Sold games can be viewed separately if needed.

Deleting Games

Games can only be deleted if they have no play history. This prevents accidental data loss. If you want to remove a game that has been played, mark it as sold instead.

Warning: Deleting a game is permanent and cannot be undone. Only delete games you're certain you want to remove.

Shared Collections

When you create a family, your collection is automatically shared with all family members:

  • The family owner's games are visible to all members
  • All family members can log sessions for any game in the shared collection
  • Statistics are calculated per player, showing each person's performance
  • Only the family owner can add or remove games from the collection
