What Are Competitions?
Competitions add friendly rivalry to your game nights by tracking wins over a period of time or set of games. They're perfect for:
- Monthly family challenges
- Holiday gaming tournaments
- Tracking who's the best at specific games
- Adding structure to regular game nights
- Creating special events with bonus points
Competition Modes
ScoreKeep offers three different competition modes to suit different playing styles:
Standard Mode
Time-based competitions where participants can play any games from the collection within a date range.
Best for: Regular game nights, monthly challenges
Duration: Set start and end dates
Scoring: 1 point per win
Games: Any from your collection
Tournament Mode
Fixed set of randomly selected games. Competition completes when all featured games have been played.
Best for: Focused challenges, exploring your collection
Duration: Ends when all games played
Scoring: 1 point per win
Games: Randomly selected subset (you choose how many)
Bonus Challenge Mode
Featured games with descending bonus points. The first game is worth the most points, decreasing as you progress.
Best for: Adding excitement, encouraging variety
Duration: Set dates or until all games played
Scoring: Descending bonus points (e.g., 5, 4, 3, 2, 1)
Games: Hand-picked or random selection

How Scoring Works
Competitions automatically track wins from game sessions:
Standard & Tournament Modes
- Each win = 1 point
- Ties give each tied player 1 point
- Only sessions with ALL competition participants count
- Tiebreaker: Fewest games played (efficiency)
Bonus Challenge Mode
- Points decrease for each featured game (e.g., Game 1 = 5pts, Game 2 = 4pts, etc.)
- Only wins in featured games count toward competition score
- Standard scoring applies once bonus points are exhausted
- Strategy: Play high-value games first if you're confident you'll win
Important: Only game sessions where ALL competition participants played together count toward the competition score. Games with missing participants are excluded.
